Animal House

When thinking of movies based on college, Animal House always is my first choice. This movie is hilarious from the very beginning until the credits roll. The purpose of my blog is to find good movies that specifically are for guys and to review them. The review will consist of a description of the plot, a rating, and reasons why the movie is a good choice for guys.

The Delta Tau Chi Fraternity is the only thing standing in the way of Dean Wormer’s idea of a perfect college. Bluto, Otter, D-day, Larry (Pinto), Kent (Flounder), and the rest of the Deltas are a bunch of party animals. There never is a dull moment in the Delta house.  They have mastered the art of partying all the time and cheating to get grades good enough to stay in school. However, they fall into the trap of the Omegas when Bluto and D-day steal a copy of the test with the wrong answers. These test scores lower their GPAs so bad that they only have one strike left with Dean Wormer. With one strike left, what did they do? They threw a toga party! After breaking the rules once again, the dean happily revokes their charter and takes away all their belongings. Bluto describes the sad event as, “Seven years of college down the drain.” After a quick pep talk, the Deltas go to work on a plan to seek revenge on Dean Wormer and the Omegas. They create the “deathmobile” float and wreak havoc during the homecoming parade.

I believe Animal House is a great movie for guys. On a scale of 5 stars I give this movie 4 out of 5. Animal House was released in 1978. If a movie can still be funny after over 30 years, it is amazing. The movie is full of nonstop jokes, sight gags, good music, cool cars, and lots of action. They’re living the college life that everyone thinks is the way it should be for guys during this time period of their lives. If you like other National Lampoon’s movies then you have to check this one out. It is a classic and it will definitely keep you laughing the whole way through.
